. . . WTF?

Quick quiz: What is the best way of determining whether you are pregnant?

1) Taking a pregnancy test.
2) Seeking the advice of a medical professional.
3) Waiting and watching.
4) Hoping complete strangers on LiveJournal will be able to tell you based on patchy information.

Apparently, many women choose option 4.

Incidentally, if people don't want to get pregnant, why don't they use condoms or take the pill? I cannot understand it. I'd never play Russian Roulette with my uterus in that way. :P

Maybe it's a South African mindset on my part. Because of the AIDS rate in the country, safe sex is a national priority. We have advertising campaigns in the media and billboards on the streets about how no condom = no sex. So, condomising (made-up word that's in all the campaigns) is part of the national consciousness.

It must be puts. *puts down recent issues of Catwoman* I must be from South Africa, too.

Maybe it's just an intelligent person's mindset then. :P

It's the same here. You can literally go into any toilet on campus and get a handful of free condoms. That said, people tend to use them for water-"balloon" fights at certain times of the year, rather than safe sex. They tend to think they're a bit cheap and ugly.

I'm convinced that the idiots will inherit the earth for that reason. Smart people use contraception and tend to have fewer (if any) children; stupid people . . . you get the point. It's like the opposite of the natural selection that used to happen. :P

Since Grant and I have been trying to conceive, I've checked out a few pregnancy message boards - I can't tell you the number of 16 year olds that are on there. They're sigs always say "I'm 16 years old and pregnant...I guess God had a plan for me."

Um, how about taking responsibility?? God didn't make you pregnant - you and that boy at church camp did.

Yes. Unless you're the Virgin Mary, that excuse doesn't really fly.

Besides, last time I read my Bible, God didn't exactly endorse sex out of marriage.
